Wiegand Cards

Wiegand cards were the preferred technology until proximity was introduced to the market. The wiegand card was a very strange technology in that wire was twisted in a fashion that when the wiegand cards are passed through a wiegand reader would transmit the data to the processor. These wires in the wiegand cards were sometimes damaged from having them in your wallet to laying them on your dash in the sun. Although still used today, we have been informed by the manufacturer the wiegand cards will be discontinued and the last order date is December 31, 2012.
